Paris: A knife-wielding man attacks two shopkeepers and customers inside a shopping mall, killing 2 and wounding seven.
According to the World News Agency, a knifeman entered a shopping mall in the French city of Valence and struck and killed a shopkeeper and then attacked two customers there.
The assailants exited the shopping mall and attacked the passers-by, while the knife-wielding man tried to escape upon reaching the police, which was pursued and detained by the policemen.
Police say the attacker killed two civilians and injured seven, of which one is in critical condition. The assailant is a 33-year-old Sudanese man who has applied for asylum in France. Investigation is in progress so we have not revealed the motive for the attack.
